About

I started my research journey in the field of Computational Network Systems Biology. In later years, my work developed in the fields of protein biophysics, biochemistry and chemical biology. I earned my doctorate from the department of Biosciences and Bioengineering at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati.
At GBU, I lead a group of young and dynamic researchers who strive towards the development of therapeutics for the treatment multi-factorial complex diseases like cancer, hypertension, diabetes, obesity and auto-immune disorders.
We are an interdisciplinary research group which integrates the principles of biology with chemistry, physics and mathematics to bridge the gap between a laboratory bench and applied clinical solutions. Though, majority of our work is translational in its nature, our lab also works in understanding these diseases at a systems level.

The Biomolecular Systems Laboratory: Engineering Biological Systems

The laboratory operates at the cutting-edge convergence of computational biology, chemical biology and network medicine to decode disease complexity and engineer precision interventions.

The research group primarily works in four verticals:

1. Development of peptide-based targeted delivery vectors for the treatment of different cancer types and autoimmune diseases.
2. Development of bioactive peptides as therapeutics for treatment of Diabetes, Obesity, Hypertension and Neurodegenerative diseases.
3. Understanding diseases complexity of cancer and cardio-metabolic diseases using the principles of Network Biology for development of Network Medicine.
4. Mathematical Modeling and Computational Biophysics.
