Curriculum
GBU’s curriculum empowers your learning through real-world applications of knowledge, solutions for challenges, and personal growth beyond the course content.
After graduation, you will excel in applying and adapting your skills and expertise to meet the demands of your chosen line of work and identify your own personal strengths.
Semester Structure
Semester 1 starts with core subjects, concepts, and lab skills. In Semester 2, you will gain advanced subject knowledge and key skills.
A small summer research project enables you to apply your newly-acquired skills and knowledge.
You’ll take advanced elective courses in Semester 3 taught by GBU faculty, visiting Edinburgh faculty, and industry experts.
You’ll also plan and start your 9-month research project, which continues through Semester 4.
Research and Placements
You’ll have the opportunity of research placements across various institutions, including GBU, the University of Edinburgh, industry, or other relevant institutions.
This ensures you will receive world-class and up-to-date training in your chosen field.
Mentorship and Development
At GBU, you will have a mentor to guide your journey to become proficient in independent and critical thinking.
A pragmatic curriculum will help build research and skill proficiency, find translatable approaches to local and global challenges, encourage innovation, entrepreneurship, teamwork, ethics, and value-driven working.
